Assistant Professor (Finance)



The Kate Tiedemann School Business and Finance at the Muma College of Business, University of South Florida, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Finance who can actively contribute to its Fintech program. The Kate Tiedemann School Business and Finance recently received substantial gifts totaling $14 million, aimed at enhancing our education and research in FinTech. We encourage applications from candidates holding a PhD in Finance or a related discipline (e.g., MIS, Computer Science) or expecting to complete their degree by August 1, 2025. Successful candidates will demonstrate substantive Fintech experience.

Ideal candidates will target and publish in high quality Finance journals (JF, JFE, JFQA, RF, RFS, etc.) and all candidates demonstrate excellence in teaching. Teaching experience in Finance courses related to Fintech is highly desired. Minimum Qualifications:

Doctoral degree from an AACSB (or international equivalent) accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service at the time of applying. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the appropriate rank.

Preferences:
\n \n
  • Evidence of ability or potential to publish in top-level journals. A candidate's record should support credentialing at the SA (scholar academic) classification under AACSB guidelines.

  • Substantive experience in Fintech.
  • \n
  • Evidence of ability to make service contributions to the university and the profession.
  • \n
  • Proficiency in technical skills such as Blockchain, A.I., machine learning, new programming languages, and more.
  • \n
  • A terminal degree from an AACSB (or international equivalent) accredited institution.
  • \n
  • Evidence of collaboration in previous academic or professional endeavors.
  • \n
  • Overall quality of the candidate as indicated by letters of reference and personal contacts.
