IT Asset Assistant (Finance)



Position Summary:

Reporting to the Assistant Director, IT Business operations, this position will be dedicated to the management, tracking, and reporting duties involved with the IT Business Operation Asset Management team. This position will be required to work on-site full time and interact with all asset-holding teams (AV, Networking, Telecom, Operational Technology, Data Center Operations, Financial Management - Purchasing, and any other team in IT that has asset requirements) to ensure departmental assets are managed according to University and departmental standards and processes.Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and two years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Some positions may require possession of a classified driver's license appropriate to the type of vehicle operated.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working within Atlassian software products such as Jira & Jira Assets CMDB.
  • Demonstratable proficiency working with Microsoft Excel

  • Daily coordination of assets and inventory for the operational needs of the AV and Networking teams
  • Work with the ITAM team during coordinated quarterly and annual inventory counts of all asset-holding teams throughout IT and their locations
  • Following documented procedures, coordinate the asset disposal process including receiving approvals for asset disposal and setting up electronic disposal pickups with disposal vendor
  • Follow documented procedures to maintain proper records within our inventory management system
  • Assist with asset record maintenance within our inventory management system
  • Receive shipments delivered for specific IT teams and follow procedures to document the receipt and record creation for these assets
  • Coordinate vendor pick-up of outgoing shipments as needed
  • Following documented processes, conduct random inventory spot-checks on stock inventory
