Python Developer, Vice President (Finance)



Who we are looking for

We are seeking a highly skilled detailed-oriented Python developer to join our Alternative Investment Solutions Technology team. The role involves developing, automating, and maintaining tools and processes that support critical financial workflows including reporting, reconciliation, and operational risk management. The Ideal candidate will have strong technical capabilities combined with an understanding of financial products, systems, and operational processes.

This position supports Alternative Investment Solutions (AIS) and reports to the AIS Tech team supporting various strategic programs and initiatives across AIS. This position will provide the candidate exposure across all AIS business lines, a strong foundation into products services and a career path in program strategy and execution.

The core responsibility will be developing solutions with the business to drive results and transformation. Project types include custom reporting, reconciliation, anomaly detection, client conversions, and any other special projects where the business may need an automated solution quickly.

What you will be responsible for

As a Vice President in this role, you will

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust Python and VBA solutions to automate manual processes across finance operations.
  • Build and optimize Excel-based tools and macros to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Risk, and IT teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Develop and maintain interfaces with financial data providers and internal systems.
  • Implement data validation and reconciliation logic to ensure data integrity.
  • Monitor and support daily automation jobs and troubleshoot any production issues.
  • Contribute to documentation, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control frameworks, audit standards, and data security policies.

What we value

These skills will help you succeed in this role

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in financial operations or a similar environment.
  • Proficiency in Python for automation, data manipulation (Pandas, NumPy), and API integration.
  • Strong experience with VBA, particularly in automating and enhancing Excel-based tools.
  • Solid understanding of financial products (equities, fixed income, derivatives) and trade lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with databases (SQL & Oracle), data extraction, and transformation processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) or cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in financial operations.

Salary Range:
$110,000 - $177,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
