Manager, Public Safety (Finance)



Nemours is seeking a Manager, Public Safety to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Wilmington, Delaware.

This position, in the absence of or at the direction of the Director of Public Safety, will be responsible for the oversight of the Public Safety Department. The Public Safety Manager will ensure proper security coverage daily as well as during special events and emergent situations. The Public Safety Manager will assist the Director of Public Safety in the identification, development, implementation and maintenance of security processes, practices, and policies to mitigate security risks and effectively respond to security related events. The position will develop security education programs and strategies to raise awareness levels relating to associate personal security, workplace violence, and the protection of Nemours Children's Hospitals and surrounding clinics. The position will proactively monitor security conditions and conduct ongoing threat analysis of data received from all available sources. Serves as liaison between corporate leadership and field leadership to help drive and progress the Nemours Physical Security and Public Safety programs. Attends appropriate huddles and meetings to represent Public Safety and participates / leads security training when appropriate. Collaborates with appropriate internal and external business partners. Provides timely and accurate reporting to both local and corporate leadership. Responsible for developing, executing and evaluating hospital Security Management Plans, Annual Plan Evaluations, Risk Assessments, Hazard Vulnerability Assessments and Policies and Procedures. The position requires the individual to possess skills in video surveillance, access control systems, duress alarm systems, visitor management and other physical security technology. The individual will also help represent security when consulting for new construction projects at all facilities within their assigned area. May study, investigate, prepare reports and metrics and/or recommend preventative or corrective actions in areas requiring specific expertise.

  • Assist the Director of Public Safety in the oversight of the Public Safety team including recruiting, hiring and training Public Safety Officers
  • Manage the Public Safety schedule and ensure proper security coverage daily as well as during special events and emergent situations.
  • Assist in identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining security processes, practices, and policies to mitigate security risks and effectively respond to security related events
  • Develop security education programs, strategies and drills to raise awareness levels relating to associate personal security, workplace violence, and the protection of Nemours Children's Hospital and surrounding clinics.
  • Assist in developing, executing and evaluating hospital Security Management Plans, Annual Plan Evaluations, Risk Assessments, Hazard Vulnerability Assessments and Policies and Procedures.
  • Proactively monitor security conditions and conduct ongoing threat analysis of data received from all available sources
  • Perform other duties as assigned from Public Safety leadership

Job Requirements
  • Associate's Degree required.
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years experience required.
  • State Constable license or ability to obtain within 1 year required.
  • CHPA, CPP, or other license preferred.
