Geologist-Exploration, Sr. (Finance)



JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary purpose:

Develop maps and cross-sections using all available well information. Able to understand and predict the flow characteristics based on analogues for reservoirs and heterogeneity at both field production and regional levels. Evaluates and reports the mineralogy impacts on near well injectivity and long-term storage sequestration considering reservoir, seal and formation fluid characteristics. Able to create initial static and dynamic geological models. Ability to work at both an Exploration / Regional scale in addition to a Field / Production scale.Job Requirements

Experience/Specific Knowledge:

Education:

  • B.S. Geoscience or Engineering professional with 10+ years of oil & gas / CCUS subsurface experience operator
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
Competencies, Skills & Abilities:
  • TECOP feasibility and Field Development Planning,
  • Develops and mentor's senior leadership and/or rising talent.
  • Actively participates in professional and/or industrial organizations.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of technical discipline and government regulations.
  • Effectively communicate with various stakeholders, including team members, project management, commercial, 3rd party lab contractors and other internal/external customers.

Above the minimum requirements, not required but advantageous in this position:

  • Master's degree Geoscience or Engineering discipline
  • E&P operator experience
Other responsibilities:

The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed. This position may perform other duties as assigned.Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Modelling and awareness of geologic property distribution and link to depositional environment.
  • K/Phi sedimentological controls from a regional to field scale perspective
  • Regional Structural geologic framework including regional stress regime and impact on fault and fracture initiation / reactivation.
  • Conduct Basin hydrogeology evaluation
  • Contributes to the project's understanding of containment risks.
  • Generate complete penetration maps with faults and fractures.
  • Effectively prioritize workload between several projects.
  • Interact internally and externally with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
  • Maintain a high standard of ethical conduct in all work activity and company matters of every kind.
  • Speak, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and careful listening.
  • Maintain regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.
  • Will work non-traditional hours as needed.
  • Maintain a high regard for personal safety, the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to electrical engineering practice. Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
  • Responsible for QA/QC process adherence.
  • Other daily, weekly, monthly, or special project duties as identified and defined.
  • Other duties as assigned.
