Are you interested in working with a group of talented people who drive innovation and celebrate the global community? We are currently seeking a Water Resources Engineer with stormwater engineering expertise for our Research Triangle Park (RTP), North Carolina office.

What You'll Get to Do:

We are in search of a highly motivated team member to join our family of engineers and scientists who has a strong quantitative skillset to support municipal and state clients. This is an engaging and high impact position in which you will work closely with national industry leaders to support clients with stormwater management and design, green stormwater infrastructure (GSI), low impact development (LID), hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analysis, flood management, community resiliency, flood reduction/floodplain management, and watershed management projects. In this position you will work as a team member to support routine and non-routine assignments related to engineering projects of substantial variety and complexity.

More About This Role:

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide project management expertise for MS4 programs, stormwater management projects, watershed restoration, or watershed planning.
  • Act as a project manager and/or technical lead and work with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Support and/or lead stormwater infrastructure improvements and rehabilitation design.
  • Support and/or lead the design analysis through application of quantitative and qualitative evaluation techniques.
  • Support in the preparation of construction documents (plans and specifications)
  • Support cost-benefit analyses
  • Conduct H&H analysis and modelling
  • Evaluate alternatives, resolve technical issues and interface with other engineering and scientific disciplines.
  • Perform writing assignments to contribute to project documentation and deliverables such as memos and reports.
  • Interact with clients, including providing technical support and training.
  • Participate in strategic marketing discussions and proposal development.
  • Assist with quality control and quality assurance

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in environmental/civil engineering (or a related field)
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) certification in the State of North Carolina with a minimum of 5-10 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Demonstrated educational and relevant work experience showing strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong background in stormwater design and/or watershed management
  • Experience with project management for municipal clients and NCDOT
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multiple clients, including federal, state, and local entities.
  • Experience with municipal clients
  • Experience with client presentations and communications
  • Proficiency with H&H models, such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, or SWMM
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcPro
  • Experience with Bentley ORD (MicroStation preferred)
  • Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective meetings and written report preparation.
