Pressperson (Manufacturing)

The Times Union is seeking an experienced offset journeyman pressman to join its Albany, NY, production operation full-time. If hired, you will work with a close-knit team responsible for maintaining and operating a state-of-the-art KBA Commander CL press that produces Times Union and numerous commercial print publications in a high-quality and cost-effective manner, seven days a week.

Qualifications: 

• 5-10 years of web offset newspaper or commercial printing experience.
• Able to produce high-quality print results on a consistent basis.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on meeting deadlines and customer expectations.
• Well-developed verbal communication skills.
• Fluency with computerized press controls and operator interfaces.
• Technical knowledge and mechanical aptitude for newspaper printing operations, including equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Hours:  Primarily evenings and weekend evenings, but hours can vary based on training and production needs.

Pay:      This is a union position with an hourly rate of $35.95 per hour.
