PA/Instr. II - Movement Disorder (Finance)
Master's or Medical degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor.
Additional Minimum:
This position requires graduation from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 464 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64, or graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 458 and 459 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64. 40%-The APRN/PA will be under the general supervision and in accordance with the standardized procedure. The position is responsible for performing physical examinations and treating common episodic and chronic healthcare problems, counseling patient and families, monitoring patient's progress, assisting with medical research projects. Works in collaboration with healthcare team members, consulting and referring as appropriate, but retains responsibility for ongoing clinical management of the patient. Updates patient's records, noting changes in medication and responses of patients. Notifies physicians of changes in patient condition.
Teaching -
5%-Participates in in-service educational programs and professional associations. Develops and implements long and short range treatment plans. May be assigned to train nursing/ medical students.
Research -
50%-Assist PI with Movement Disorder Clinical research.- follows treatment protocols, screens/refers patients for participation, collects data, attends research meetings, and follows up with patients. Maintains compliance with established policies and procedures, quality assurance, safety, environmental, infection control and requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies. Instructs and counsels patients involves patients in informed decision making with regard to illness, procedures, treatment regimens, advance directives and activities of daily living. Considers the patients and families' physical, psychosocial, educational and safety needs when planning care.
Other -
5%-Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising and related activities.
May represent the university, college/school, or department.
