Position Summary:
\n
The University of South Florida seeks a Visiting Research Scholar (hourly, temporary) to support a funded project investigating Langmuir turbulence, rip currents, and crossshore transport in the surf zone and inner shelf.
\n

The scholar will assist with high-resolution simulations using OpenFOAM and ROMS, and contribute to modeling efforts using the COAWST framework. Tasks may include wavecurrent interaction modeling, turbulence analysis, and passive tracer transport.Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field of specialization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of coastal processes such as wave breaking, Langmuir circulation, and
    sediment transport
  • Experience with turbulence modeling (RANS, LES, or DES)
  • Ph.D. degree in engineering, oceanography, or related field
  • Experience with ROMS, OpenFOAM, or COAWST
  • Programming experience (e.g., Fortran, C++, Python, or MATLAB)
