Off Shift Distribution Supervisor (Finance)

Purpose :

The Shift Supervisor-Distribution is a night shift position, responsible for leading, guiding and directing the day-to-day warehousing operations, which includes receiving, picking, packing and shipping activities to meet business and customer service objectives. The Supervisor is responsible for the safety of the associates, defining and escalating operational needs, making associate assignments, and problem solving to remove barriers for effective and efficient processing of work

Responsibilities :

  • Review daily shift reports to identify priorities and manning needs. Work with Team Leads to plan work assignments and reallocate manning as needed. Assess priorities, monitor workflow and ensure production goals are met.
  • Establish performance expectations, coach direct reports and follow up as needed. Ensure employees understand performance expectations and have access to appropriate training. Monitor employee training progress. Follow up as needed to reinforce policy, procedures, and work instruction adherence. Document performance exceptions for employee evaluations. Issue employee disciplines as needed. Manage employee attendance, timecard completion, and vacation approvals/coverage levels.
  • Demonstrate broad and comprehensive knowledge of operation processes and procedures. Demonstrate skills to analyze, justify, coordinate, and implement continuous improvement ideas.
  • Support continuous improvement ideas by developing and implementing action plans and following through for completion.
  • Coach and mentor Team Leads to achieve high performance.
  • Demonstrate high level of oral, written, and listening communication skills to interact with internal and external customers, suppliers, and other company contacts.
  • Monitor to ensure a safe and clean work environment.
  • Adhere to the company's Quality and Environmental policies.

Required Skills & Experience :

  • Able to handle multiple competing tasks and priorities, and perform quality work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Able to work required hours which may include weekends and holidays
  • Knowledge of distribution / warehousing process
  • Strong verbal / written communication skills
  • Problem Solving skills
  • Microsoft Office applications
  • Red Prairie and/or SAP Experience
  • Effective Labor Management Skills

Physical Requirements to Perform Essential Functions :

  • Standing, walking, bending, climbing, and stretching are required for extended periods during the day.
  • Manual dexterity to handle equipment / tools and the ability to lift 55 pounds.
  • Vision must be sufficient to perform job functions safely.

Education Requirements :

  • High School graduate - Minimum
  • Associate or BachelorsDegree (Business or related field) - Preferred
