Materials Planner/ Buyer (Finance)

Job Summary:
The Materials Planner/ Buyer is responsible for source and procurement functions directly associated with the Companys needs for indirect materials and services, fixed assets and tooling, and select production materials and services. These products and services are to be secured at cost quality, and delivery competitive levels consistent with Company receipt and inventory control of the products and services as assigned consistent with ISO requirements.

Essential Job Functions:
Reviews Horizon for yesterdays order intake for manufactured parts and provides promise dates before 11AM
Works the Epicor production planner workbench to firm release and print jobs with full material availability
Coordinates with engineering on deviations to maintain the Epicor job bill of operations and bill of materials
Works the Epicor production planner workbench to identify shortage materials for production jobs, and coordinate material arrival and job release timing with purchasing
Provides job status and shipment timing updates to customer service
Monitors dispatched jobs to insure timely completion of those jobs and fulfillment of customer orders at accepted on time performance rates
Monitors the Horizon report to follow up on at risk orders
Completes jobs after the job quantity is satisfied, insuring that labor and quantity transactions were performed so that materials backflush correctly from inventory
Assists the plant cycle counter with root cause investigation for inventory not found or negative on hands that relate to improper labor quantity or move transactions
Will support the facility manager through the execution of assigned special projects
May be asked to perform facility MRO buying duties
Will be responsible for maintaining production planning parameters that will result in inventory levels within approved levels for assigned parts
Able to work in and around a manufacturing environment
Will be called upon to help supervise facility personnel as required due to vacation scheduling or absence due to sickness of supervisor peers
Position will require infrequent overnight travel to other CGUSA or customer locations.
Purchases steel and maintenance parts.

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent- Required
Bachelors' Degree- Preferred
3 years of experience scheduling and buying in a manufacturing environment- Required
