Director, Clinical Innovation (Finance)

SUMMARY

The Director of Clinical Innovation is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for driving the adoption and operationalization of innovative clinical practices, therapies, and technologies across dialysis centers. This role ensures that innovative efforts translate into measurable improvements in patient outcomes, operational efficiencies, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is a clinical leader with deep experience in dialysis care, implementation science, and cross-functional collaboration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties and tasks may be assigned.

  • Strategy & Planning
    • Partner with the Office of the Chief Medical Officer (OCMO) to identify, prioritize, and develop implementation plans for clinical innovations tailored to the dialysis population.
    • Align innovation initiatives with enterprise-wide strategic goals, especially around value-based care, hospitalization reduction, and patient engagement.
  • Implementation Leadership
    • Lead the deployment of new dialysis-related therapies, medications (e.g., anemia management, CKD-MBD therapies), and delivery models.
    • Serve as the subject matter expert for implementation science and innovation scaling methodologies within a dialysis framework.
  • Performance & Compliance
    • Monitor adoption of innovative initiatives using clinical and operational KPIs (e.g., missed treatments, transfusion rates, access management).
    • Ensure compliance with CMS, state, and organizational standards through proper documentation and training programs.
  • Collaboration & Enablement
    • Work closely with Quality, Compliance, IT, Learning & Development, and Field Operations to build and execute enablement toolkits.
    • Provide coaching and consultative support to Regional Directors and Facility Administrators during pilots and rollouts.
  • Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
    • Develop and refine dashboards, scorecards, and feedback mechanisms for innovation initiatives.
    • Identify barriers to adoption, develop mitigation plans, and use feedback loops to refine clinical innovation programs.
  • Upholds management goals of corporation by leading staff in team concepts and promoting a team effort.
  • Maintains effective personnel management and employee relations, including evaluating the performance of all personnel; approving and submitting all hours worked and counseling and disciplining employees.
  • Recruits, trains, develops, and supervises personnel.
  • Effectively communicates expectations; accepts accountability and holds others accountable for performance.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required for the job.
