Sponsored Projects Administration Internship (Finance)



Position Summary:

Research Administration Interns will spend one year (9/1 - 8/31) learning and developing the knowledge and skills needed to be
a research administrator. The program comprises classroom, self-guided, and hands-on training to gain foundational knowledge
and experience across all areas of research administration, including operations, pre and post-award proposal and grant
management, contracting and sub-awards, regulatory, clinical trials, systems, intellectual property, and laboratory safety. The
program offers the opportunity to apply for any open research administration position and, upon acceptance of a position, a one-year mentorship with an expert research administrator in the area of the accepted position.

Essential Functions
• Attends all training sessions, webinars, tours, and other activities as scheduled.
• Completes all self-guided modules and assignments on time
• Completes all university research administration work assigned and reviews with hands-on trainers.
• Actively participate in all discussions and ask questions.
• Complete all trainer and program evaluations.
• Meets with a career coach and program director regularly.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
• Bachelor's Degree if the intern is from one of the universities participating in the grant program required
• Master's Degree or PhD required

• None required

• Superior communication skills, both oral and written, including excellent presentation and public speaking
skills and the ability to communicate complex subject matter.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving.
• Adaptability to complete a high volume of varied responsibilities and thrive while working independently and
collaboratively.

Physical Requirements
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount
constantly to move objects.
