Early Childhood Education Project Specialist Lead (Education)

Purpose:

Support childcare professionals in gaining knowledge to improve skills through professional development opportunities, individualized technical assistance, and access to additional DESE quality initiative services. Utilize Community Partnerships support services in St. Charles, St. Louis City, and St. Louis County to intentionally meet the needs of each community.

Job Duties:
Provide direct supervision and oversight of Project Specialists
Facilitate regularly scheduled team meetings
Lead the scheduling, development, and execution of in-person and virtual training sessions, ensuring variety and effectiveness to meet varied learning styles.
Fulfill administrative tasks such as maintaining training lists, calendars, and outcomes databases, documenting events, and handling education-related inquiries.
Collaborate with internal teams to meet deliverables, support classroom integration of learned skills, and maintain a robust professional development catalog.
Participate in Professional Development for all necessary training to support any contract or program needs.
Develop and submit training to receive state approval of training in both in-person and virtual methods.
Ensure all training courses have been scheduled on the calendar and are updated via the databases.
Travel to a variety of locations to provide oversight and conduct in person and virtual training as needed.
Maintain a robust professional development catalog, while using state required platforms for approval.
Answer all education and training related questions with providers and project staff.
Development and support an annual agency professional development plan for providers.
Collaborate with the Project Manager and internal teams to ensure education and training deliverables are met.
Collaborate with internal teams to support classroom integration of skills providers learned in professional development.
Complete required agency reporting on time and accurately.
Other duties as assigned

Formal Education/Experience:

Associate degree with emphasis in Child Development, Early Childhood, Education, Special Education, Child Psychology, or related field. Bachelors degree preferred.

Equivalent work experience in Early Childhood, Early Childhood Special Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, Child Psychology, or a closely related field will also be accepted.

At least 2 years working with teachers/staff in a licensed, regulated, or public-school childcare or education.
At least 1-3 years of supervision, training and/or mentoring experience in the Early Childhood Field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Expert knowledge of Early Education, Child Development of children birth through age five (5), and Family Engagement
Strong knowledge of child and adult development
Relationship-Based Curriculum Development

Ability to plan and organize complex projects

Organizational skills and computer skills

Ability to work with diverse educational environments and effective approaches to learning styles

Effective verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of MOPD System

Data analysis and computer mastery

Experience working with varied population groups

Ability to implement trauma informed strategies
Self-starter and takes initiative
