Customer Service Representative (Sales)



SUMMARY
Interviews customers and records interview information into computer for customer service by performing the following duties and provide product focused customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.

Talks with customers by phone or in person and receives requests for new accounts, CD's, IRAs, safe deposit boxes, and other types of accounts. Does all required security & compliance procedures for new accounts.

Fills out contract forms, determines charges for service requested, collects deposits, prepares change of address records, and issues discontinuance orders. (Including Safe Deposit, Night Depository and New Accounts, and Stop Payments.)

Promotes additional bank products during customer interview process. Solicits sale of new or additional services through follow-up calls and letters.

Assists customers with account problems, including reconcilement and current transactions.

Adjusts complaints concerning billing or service rendered, referring complaints of service failures to designated departments for investigation. (Including Safe Deposit Boxes and Night Depository)

Prepares daily and monthly reports of day-to-day operations as required.(Including Automatic

Transfers for Safe Deposit Boxes and Closed Accounts)

Reviews STC On-line Banking applications for accuracy and authenticity.

Maintains Certificate of Deposits file for the bank.

Responsible for the shipment and ordering of currency, cash dispenser system and the balancing of the vault.

Assists in the compliance of Bank Secrecy.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
