Job Title: Asphalt General Laborer

Department: Paving/Construction

Reports To: Foreman or Crew Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary:

We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Asphalt Plant Laborer to join our plant crew. The individual will assist with the task of producing hot mix asphalt and plant maintenance. This role involves physical labor and working in varying outdoor conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Grease plant/equipment and other preventative maintenance responsibilities.

• Operate a variety of hand and power tools such as shovels, impacts, jackhammers, etc.

• Load, unload, and transport construction materials.

• Use skid steer and other tools to maintain and clean plant grounds.

• Identify and report maintenance and safety issues to supervisor.

• Put away tools and equipment each day.

• Follow all safety guidelines and always wear required PPE.

• Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in asphalt or general construction preferred but not required.

• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, standing, kneeling for extended periods).

• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

• Reliable transportation to job sites.

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

• Must be punctual and dependable.

Work Conditions:

• Full-time, seasonal or year-round depending on project availability.

• Long hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Work is performed outdoors in varying conditions including heat, cold, dust, and noise.

• Working around moving machinery and traffic inside quarry.

Compensation:

• Hourly rate based on experience.
