Were looking for team players who are dependable, professional, and excited to contribute as a member of a film crew to the success of a grant funded production for enhancing self-advocacy, and training in community awareness and access. Crew members will be assigned various duties based on their interests, experience and capacity for success in each of the roles listed below. Prior experience is helpful, but a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and adaptability on set are most important. This position is time limited and will end when the grant funding is exhausted, currently scheduled for 3/31/26.

Production Assistant (PA)
The Production Assistant plays a vital support role on set, assisting the Director and crew with general production needs. Responsibilities may include setting up equipment, managing production logistics, coordinating meals or runs, and helping keep the set organized and running smoothly. This is a great entry-level opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all areas of film production.Assist with setup and breakdown of gear and setRun errands and coordinate production tasks as neededSupport the Director and department leads with on-the-spot needsHelp ensure smooth daily operations during filming
Camera Assistant
The Camera Assistant helps the camera department stay organized and efficient. This includes operating the clapperboard/slate to mark each take, managing camera logs, and organizing footage for post-production. Boom Operator
The Boom Operator is part of the sound team and works directly with the Production Sound Mixer. This role involves capturing clear and balanced audio by skillfully operating the boom microphone and assisting with placement of wireless microphones.Operate boom mic during filming to capture dialogue and ambient soundHelp set up and monitor wireless/radio microphonesCollaborate with the sound mixer to ensure audio qualityMonitor background noise and adjust mic placement accordingly
What I bring
Class C driver's licenseNo prior professional experience required. Lived experience as an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) is strongly valued. Interest in advocacy, technology, film and media production are a plus. Training and ongoing support will be provided.Basic understanding of self-advocacy principles and the rights of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Interest in audio and visual equipment set up, testing, and recording techniques is a plus.Ability to communicate clearly with peers and team members. Comfortable engaging with others in the completion of projects. Capacity to handle sensitive equipment carefully. Strong listening skills. Able to collaborate with team members and take directions from supervisors, including when to be silent and hold a physical position for an extended period of time. Patient, attentive to detail, and passionate about creating success with a team. Self-motivated with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Reliable and responsible, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Experience with participating in a cooperative team process. Basic audio visual equipment safe handling skills. Capacity to manipulate equipment through space with attention to risks of damage. Ability to communicate effectively in both in-person and online settings.
