Intern (Finance)



We are looking for an intern at our Mountain House WWTP/WTP. The Intern would be responsible for tasks assisting with laboratory sampling and testing of conventional constituents. Intern would also assist with designing public education and outreach materials, in addition to potentially organizing and attending public education events focused on the City's water quality. This is a temporary part-time position.

Salary: $17/hr

Responsibilities

• Learn through observation.

• Learn to complete checklists for laboratory equipment and perform lab work related to calibrating meters and taking samples.

• Learn to operate a variety of laboratory equipment to measure pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, and other conventional pollutants.

• Learn to conduct routine testing and interpret results of water quality samples. us basic laboratory analyses.

• Assist in the design of water quality-related public education and outreach materials for distribution to inform the community of what the WWTP, WTP, and MS4 does to keep water quality high.

• Assist at public education events as needed, providing customer service as required.

• Other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience: Enrolled in High School.

Licenses/Certifications: None.

Technical: Ability to follow manual and operating instructions. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and internet.

Communication: Communicates clearly and professionally. Contributes to a positive internal and external customer experience. Willing to help others. Maintains composure in challenging situations.

Problem Solving and Quality: Pays attention to detail. Identifies and solves problems with guidance. Escalates issues accordingly. Checks work for quality.
