Your Role Tetra Tech is seeking an Environmental Scientist tow ork on-site in support of hazardous materials investigation, testing, inspection, and abatement oversight projects.

Daily travel to/from the candidate home to the Brooklyn, Manhattan, or Bronx project locations will be required.

The Salary Range for this position is $55,000 to $70,000, depending on education, experience, skills, and location.

Qualifications

Two or more years of experience in providing hazardous material management projects.

Candidates should have experience in the following:

  • Experience with XRF instrumentation, air sampling equipment, and lead, asbestos, and mold sampling preferred.
  • Must be proficient in use of technology, including iPads and associated applications.
  • Must be highly motivated, customer focused, and work well in a team environment.

Education and Certifications

A B.A/B.S. in environmental science, environmental health, or biology is preferred, but not required.

New York State and New York City licenses/certification in lead (inspector/risk assessor) and asbestos (inspector/project monitor) are required for position. Training will be offered to qualified candidates.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This position is primarily field based. Candidates are expected to be able to:

  • Lift and carry field sampling and other equipment totaling roughly 35lbs.
  • Meet physical demands of hazardous waste site work.
  • Work outside in all weather conditions and seasons, both hot and cold.
  • Work occasional weekends and evenings.
