ECommerce Manager (Finance)



PRIMARY FUNCTION:

This position is responsible for owning, managing, and directing the eCommerce business space. Develops, implements, and monitors initiatives that support the profitable growth of the eCommerce business. By working closely with account managers and departmental teams, the role ensures timely execution of online plans and monitoring and reporting of digital metrics. Also, responsible for Customer Onboarding and the Digital Excellence Program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Manage a portfolio of existing dealer eCommerce channels including, but not limited to Parts.Cat.com, Cat Integrated Procurement, and the Cat Central App, in alignment and cooperation with pertinent business units.
  • Facilitate regular training sessions on new releases from the various Caterpillar eCommerce platforms, as well as leading training sessions for regular internal users.
  • Manage the Digital Excellence Program in adherence to our shared goals with Caterpillar
  • Facilitate Digital Excellence Initiatives cross-departmentally to align workflows
  • Lead and implement our Digital Customer Onboarding Journey and processes
  • Lead the initiative of strategic account planning by leveraging our product and service capabilities and driving profitable business growth.
  • Set sales growth targets with business units and manufacturers to ensure end-to-end account profitability and growth of key accounts assigned.
  • Function as the main point of contact between manufacturers and the various internal departments, in support of the organization's specific eCommerce business needs, which includes channel distribution, creative and content creation, marketing support, parts management and other IT services related to eCommerce store management or website management.
  • Work with the Parts Counter and other customer-facing personnel to demonstrate the features/benefits of our eCommerce channels, including conducting onsite customer demos and onboarding.
  • Initiate regular business reviews with key clients to ensure that key performance indicators are met and strategize to improve KPIs.
  • Present or consult with senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services or introduction of new products or product categories.
  • Use knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and promote the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators to potential new clients.
  • Submit and track support cases requiring escalation to the Cat Customer Care team, coordinate with internal resources and customers to resolve their issues as necessary and maintain our internal issue tracking system.
  • Provide technical expertise and extensive product knowledge of all Caterpillar eCommerce platforms to assist in troubleshooting any issues that arise.
  • Assist in required testing of all Caterpillar eCommerce products during monthly launch initiatives, sending feedback to development groups, as necessary.
  • Manage risks, issues, decisions, and take corrective action where needed. This includes during system downtimes that are planned or unplanned.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to a team of eCommerce Sales Representatives, to ensure targets are met and customers are supported.
  • Assign tasks, set goals, and conduct regular performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Travel to local branches when required.
  • Adhere to all brand standards as defined by Gregory Poole Equipment Company and/or Caterpillar Inc.

STRATEGIC DUTIES
  • Formulate an eCommerce strategy that meets both Caterpillar and Gregory Poole initiatives.
  • Assist in building a solution focused environment within the parts department where eCommerce is utilized to meet the growing needs of our customers.
  • Grow Gregory Poole's eCommerce footprint within the heavy equipment space that exceeds industry standards.
  • Develop corporate vision surrounding various eCommerce platforms, by creating and implementing new processes in line with Caterpillar and other OEM manufacturers.
  • Drive the development and ongoing maintenance of training curriculum, programs and resources that will educate users on a wide array of topics ranging from basic onboarding to advanced procurement features.
  • Work directly with larger accounts by providing specialized training, support, and direction to assist in the growth of eCommerce initiatives.

UNIQUE DEPT. DUTIES

Makes full use of the variety of information available, including SIS 2.0, Numerical Parts Record and other reference media.

Attends all regular training for current and future eCommerce platforms.

Reports growth opportunities to parts department management.

MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in related field with four years related work experience, including six months of sales and business experience.

Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. Able to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and lift.

Other:

Must have intermediate computer skills and excellent customer relations skills.
