Job Summary

Ensures Vistra Corp units are in compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental regulations by developing and implementing environmental programs that maintain optimum operational flexibility, enhance business opportunities, while achieving Company goals. Involves multi-media (air, land, and water) regulations. Job level and pay grade will be contingent on experience level and qualifications.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

• Manage the environmental department, including contracted labor and equipment, to ensure environmental and reclamation activities are completed in a timely and efficient manner and conform to required specifications, including meeting water discharge effluent limitations and treatment costs.
• Work with environmental agencies (e.g., TRRC, TCEQ, USFW, TPWD, USACE etc.) and provide expertise in environmental regulations as appropriate.
• Plan, manage, and coordinate environmental and reclamation activities at mine sites to ensure compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations.
• Effectively interface with mine management, mine engineering, mine operations, mine maintenance, corporate EHS, and consultants/vendors who support environmental projects.
• Participate and assist with Compliance Assistance Visits (CAVs) and inspections as necessary including final report preparation and follow up corrective actions.
• Manage, prepare, and submit appropriate environmental databases, notifications, records, and reports including sampling, data input and reviews, Pond Reports, Stormwater, Waste Summaries Chemical Inventories, other quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports pursuant to air, land and water permitting and regulatory requirements, etc.

Education, Experience & Skills Requirements

• Four+ years in life sciences, geology, engineering, operations or equivalent experience.  Previous mine reclamation or environmental experience. Farming or Land Management background is preferred but not required. Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills.
• Proficient computer skills with both word processing and spreadsheet/database applications.
• Exhibit management and leadership skills and the ability to effectively develop trust and build relationships with peers, Vistra Leadership and outside regulatory agencies.
• Minimum education is HS Diploma or GED equivalent

**LEVEL OF POSITION WILL BE DETERMINED BY APPLICABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE.

•Broad-based knowledge of environmental compliance and corresponding laws and regulations.

•Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple activities at one time.

•Strong interpersonal and excellent written and oral communication skills, including procedures development and implementation.

•Experience with delivering communications and training related to environmental compliance, corrective actions, lessons learned, etc.
