PRIVACY COMPLIANCE GOVERNANCE LEAD (Finance)



The Privacy Governance Lead is responsible for managing the Privacy Governance team and ensuring the effective execution of the company's privacy governance program. This includes overseeing the Privacy Governance team as they perform enterprise-wide privacy consulting, maintaining expertise in privacy regulations, conducting privacy impact assessments and privacy by design reviews, identifying privacy risks, and assisting in the development of privacy policies, procedures, and training. The Lead will ensure that privacy governance practices are implemented consistently and in alignment with regulatory requirements and internal standards. This role requires strong leadership, operational rigor, and a deep understanding of privacy compliance frameworks.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Manage the Privacy Governance team, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
  • Oversee the Privacy Governance team's provision of privacy subject matter expertise and consulting across the enterprise.
  • Lead the execution of privacy impact assessments and privacy by design reviews as required.
  • Identify privacy risks across business units and coordinate with the Chief Privacy Officer on how to best mitigate those risks.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of privacy policies, procedures, and training programs.

Develop and implement compliance plans for all business lines and modalities for the company. Collaborate with executive leadership to maintain effective compliance programs. Regulatory fields may include, but are not limited to, privacy, health care, environmental, transportation, and product compliance. The leader will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for compliance matters and educate and collaborate with leadership as well as business and division teams regarding the impact of existing, new, and changing requirements pertaining to these programs to help ensure compliance and mitigate risk.   • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
  • 4+ years of diversified leadership, communication, organization, and people motivation skills or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of professional experience within their regulatory area
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize analysis into compelling oral and written communications and presentations
  • Excellent planning, organizing and follow-up skills with attention to detail and thorough documentation practices
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work based on changing and challenging deadlines
  • Highly collaborative individual, who has proven ability to work cross functionally and build strategic and mutually beneficial relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to be self-directed and work independently
DESIRED
  • Master's Degree in relevant field
  • Any prior compliance management or consulting experience
  • Current certification in their compliance area
  • Lead internal cross functional teams for advancing strategy development and implementation of enterprise compliance plans
  • Serve as the SME and remain current on evolving regulations, standards, directives, and industry guidance
  • Educate internal team members and external parties on compliance regulations, processes, and procedures
  • Advise business unit leadership on best practices related to their selected areas of responsibility to ensure compliance
  • Provide guidance to executives in executing risk assessments and implementing corrective action and mitigation strategies
  • Review reports and conduct broad, in depth, analysis of various compliance metrics to identify trends and lead the resolution of potential vulnerabilities
  • Collaborate with leadership to respond to inquiries from regulators
  • Collaborate with corporate affairs to comment and lobby on federal and state legislative matters. Participate in industry forums related to their compliance area
  • Lead projects at the direction of the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer
  • Ability to travel independently, including to oversee training and audits
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide direct feedback to direct reports
