What You'll Get to Do

The Machine Operator 3 is focused on setting up, operating, and monitoring all fabrication machinery and strives to deliver Optimal Equipment Effectiveness. The Machine Operator 3 reports to the Department Supervisor.

 

This role is perfect for an individual who is detail oriented, has excellent problem-solving skills, and adaptability.  A vital member of the Machining Department, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.

 

Job responsibilities include:

  • Operate and monitor machinery ensuring optimal performance
  • Make proper adjustments to correctly hold fabrication tolerances
  • Identify and resolve issues with machinery and equipment
  • Interpret cut sheets and job folder information to facilitate production flow
  • Perform material requisitioning when required
  • Maintain part traceability with proper tagging identification techniques
  • Visual Quality Checks of incoming & outgoing material
  • Work towards continuously improving housekeeping, safety, quality, and productivity
  • Follows and adheres to the company's safety policies
  • Changeover and or relocation of all fabrication equipment (Mills, Cassettes,)
  • Inventory, and organize all tooling (Dies, Cassettes, Fixtures, Cutters...) to promote quick and efficient line changeovers
  • Assist the tool room with equipment modifications to increase or optimize production capacity.
  • Continuously improve line layouts and fabrication methods to minimize labor requirements within the fabrication processes by product.
  • Continuously seek out and act upon opportunities to engineer out equipment related safety risks.
  • Continuously seek out and act upon opportunities to engineer out equipment related quality risks
  • Other duties as assigned

 

What We Are Looking For

  • Ability to utilize various machine-shop measuring instruments
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong mechanical aptitude required
  • Ability to use hand tools and read a tape measure
  • Basic math skills
  • Prior involvement with continuous improvement initiatives
  • High school diploma or equivalent, technical school training helpful
