In Plant Service Center Technician (Maintenance)



 Total Safety is looking for a IPSC (In Plant Service Center) Technician to join their safety conscious team! The IPSC (In Plant Service Center) Technician works under the direction of a supervisor in a plant environment and provides a variety of services which may include inspection, testing, cleaning, maintenance, and repair of customer owned or Total Safety U.S. Inc. equipment. Interfaces with customers on a regular basis.

Essential Duties:  

  • Learns to inspect, test, and maintain safety equipment per manufacturer's requirements and document service according to Total Safety U.S. Inc./customer policies and procedures. 
  • Assists others in facility including stocking shelves with clean, tested, and ready to use equipment and pulling, staging, and loading customer orders onto trucks for delivery. Maintains work area and other areas in a clean and orderly condition. Performs additional duties after training. 
  • Learn to issue, receive, track, and inspect equipment as per company/customer requirements.
  • Able to effectively communicate with others and build rapport with customers quickly. 
  • Must work safely and adhere to all Total Safety U.S. Inc. & customer policies and procedures. 

Skills and Experience:  

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Must have a valid driver's license from state of residence and valid proof of vehicle insurance. Must possess good driving record and be insurable for Total Safety vehicle insurance while driving company truck.  
  • Forklift experience preferred. Must have ability to pass internal forklift certification as required. 
  • Proficiency in the care and use of all sites specific, facility and customer required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). May need training in Respiratory Protection and fully certified to wear respiratory breathing equipment (Fit Tested) 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.  Uses hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to sit.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus

Working Environment:  

  • Plant environment. May be exposed to wet, humid, outside weather conditions and vibration. Works in customer environments. May be exposed to high pressures, chemicals, and plant traffic. The noise level in work environment is usually moderate.  

Educational Requirements:  

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
