COMPENSATION INFORMATION
The salary range(s) represents our good faith estimate for the role at this time. While we strive to provide competitive and transparent compensation, there may be circumstances where an offer is above or outside of the listed range. We are open to discussing salary expectations with qualified candidates considering factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location will all be considered during the hiring process.

  • Operations Applications Analyst II salary range; $ 76,000 - $ 96,900
  • Sr. Operations Applications Analyst salary range; $ 85,800 - $ 109,450

 .Come join our team as a Sr. or Operations Applications Analyst II

SPP is is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Sr. or Operations Applications Analyst II to join our team. This critical role supports and maintains applications and databases essential to the daily operations of SPP's Coordinated Operations, including the Integrated Marketplace, Consolidated Balancing Authority (CBA), Reliability, Tariff, Markets, Scheduling, and Engineering functions.

The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert in one or more technical application areas and will play a vital role in ensuring systems function reliably and securely to support SPP's member organizations and core services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced support for assigned operational systems and applications.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues to ensure stability and reliability.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to meet end-user needs and project goals.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), from design to deployment.
  • Install, configure, and maintain enterprise-level applications and data interfaces.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex system problems and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior analysts and team members.
  • Develop and maintain thorough technical documentation and operational procedures.
  • Support 24/7/365 mission-critical operations via on-call rotation.

 To be successful as a Sr. or Operations Applications Analyst II, we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Two (2) Years of Information Technology development/programming/support experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement
  • Operations Applications Analyst II - Three (3) years' experience of Information Technology Development/Support experience
  • Sr. Operations Applications Analyst - Six (6) years of Information Technology development/programming/support experience
  • Effective working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Unix or Linux operating systems, application
  • support, and database management systems
  • Effective troubleshooting, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Effective working knowledge of SDLC and project life cycle methods and practices
  • Good customer service and organizational skills
  • Understanding of and compliance with SPP Policies and Procedures
  • Proficient in scripting, SQL, deciphering error and event logs, data analysis

Preferred:

  • Experience with User Experience (UX) design
  • Experience in C#, JavaScript, SQL, and other similar development languages
  • Experience with MVC, WebAPI, and MVVM
  • Understanding of object-oriented analysis and design concepts
  • Experience with version control including Git
  • Knowledge of the Southwest Power Pool high voltage transmission system, the SPP Criteria, SPP Business Practices, NERC Reliability Standards, SPP Market Protocols, SPP Regional Tariff, SAS70 Modeling Controls and SPP Change Control procedures
  • Knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards, SPP Criteria, SPP Market Protocols, the SPP OATT and SPP OATT Business Practices
  • Knowledgeable of and conversant with tools such as the EMS, Open Access Same-time Information System, and the Integrated Market System · Initiative to stay abreast of industry developments

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time, onsite hybrid position based in Little Rock, Arkansas. The standard workweek is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with extended hours may be required. Job requires managing staff working rotating shift schedules with long hours. 

Travel Requirement:

  • This position requires minimal travel (approximately 10%)
