FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Employment Status: Full Time (40 hours per week)
Reports to: New Construction Project Manager
Compensation: $19.50 per hour, 40 hours per week - Tuesday through Saturday

Position Purpose

The Assistant Site Supervisor oversees specific construction tasks and projects with the intention of learning and growing in the knowledge and skills required to become a Construction Site Supervisor. This role will both manage projects independently and support the homes of the Site Supervisor they are assigned to assist, while upholding Habitat Charlotte Region's standards of safety, partnership, quality, and teamwork.

Essential Functions

  • Assume leadership roles during individual workdays and for entire projects as assigned by the Supervisor
  • Assist with site prep work from clearing to foundation to gain experience in all construction stages
  • Gain proficiency in back-office tasks required of a Site Supervisor, including ordering, scheduling, invoice approvals, construction workflow, critical path planning, and sub-contractor management
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments (Development, Volunteer Coordination, Family Services, etc.) to ensure smooth project completion
  • Plan for each workday to ensure all necessary resources—materials and human—are available to complete the task list
  • Perform, supervise, monitor, and delegate tasks to volunteers, homeowners, and other team members as appropriate
  • Provide leadership on special construction projects such as off-site builds and events as requested
  • Ensure a safe working environment at all times, abiding by Habitat Charlotte Region, OSHA, and EPA safety standards
  • Maintain Habitat equipment as assigned

  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Must be available to work Tuesday–Saturday

Physical Demands

  • Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding
  • Ability to work and maneuver on roofs and in high spaces
  • Ability to work in crawlspaces and tight areas
  • Ability to maneuver over uneven ground
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted
  • Ability to stand most or all of a given day
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in all weather conditions
  • Ability to perform basic computer skills
