Pay Rate: $55,000 - 65,000 per year based on experience

Work Schedule: In Office. Must be able to commute to the Cincinnati/Blue Ash, Ohio office. Monday through Friday, Day Shift.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and curious Assistant Pattern Maker to join our Product Development team. This entry-level role is a rare opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience with pattern development in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. You will learn from seasoned professionals, work with tailored garments, and build your expertise in tools like Gerber AccuMark while contributing to real product cycles.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creation and digitization of accurate computerized patterns using Gerber AccuMark software.
  • Translate design specifications into production-ready patterns under mentorship and supervision.
  • Participate in fit sessions, update patterns based on feedback, and help document technical fit comments.
  • Contribute to maintaining grading charts, dimension charts, and the internal pattern library.
  • Support development of fit standards and assist with block modifications for various product categories.
  • Collaborate with product development, quality control, and sample makers to learn best practices in pattern execution.
  • Help manage pattern files, technical specs, and sewing instruction documents.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn about fabric behavior, garment balance, and construction methods.
  • Participate in innovation discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Note: Candidates will receive mentorship and training to support growth into full responsibilities over time.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with pattern design software such as Gerber, Lectra, or similar (coursework/internship experience acceptable).
  • Basic understanding of garment construction and how patterns translate into finished products.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Organized, eager to learn, and interested in technical product development.
  • Able to work collaboratively and respond positively to feedback.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design, Fashion Technology, or a related field is required.
  • Additional hands-on experience in pattern making is preferred.
  • Foundational exposure (via coursework or internships) with Gerber AccuMark is a plus.
  • Experience working with tailored garments (men's and women's tops and bottoms) is strongly preferred, including a solid understanding of fit, balance, and the nuances of structured garment construction.
  • An interest in managing digital pattern libraries, fit documentation, and grading specifications.
  • Exposure to tailored apparel (men's or women's) is a plus but not required.
  • Prior experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, factories (domestic and overseas), and sample makers is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Positional: Driving in accordance with job duties assigned. Frequent standing and walking. Constant sitting.
