Associate Industrial Designer (Biotech)



Position Summary

The Associate Industrial Designer will support the design and development of ceiling fans as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team.  This is a full-time position based in Memphis, TN, with a hybrid schedule. The ideal candidate is creative, motivated, and eager to grow in a fast-paced product development environment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop original and compelling ceiling fan design concepts under direction from the Lead Industrial Designer

Translate market trends, consumer insights, and consumer behavior into thoughtful product solutions

Create clear sketches, 3D CAD models, and renderings to effectively communicate design intent

Contribute to team brainstorming sessions, collaborative critiques, and internal reviews

Research materials, finishes, forms, and design trends to inform product development

Collaborate with Engineering and Marketing to align design intent through development

Perform other duties as assigned that contribute to the success of the design department and Hunter Fan Company

Minimal travel expected

 

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or related field

0–3 years of experience in product design (internships/co-ops welcome; recent graduates encouraged to apply)

 

Special Qualifications or Skills

Portfolio that demonstrates strong design thinking, sketching, and 3D modeling

3D modeling skills required; proficiency in SolidWorks, Rhino, KeyShot, and/or CREO a plus

Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team

Eagerness to learn and openness to constructive feedback

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
