Sr Embedded Engineer - Portable Industrial Safety Devices (Finance)

We're seeking an Sr. Embedded Engineer to join our PMC Engineering group and play a critical role in designing and sustaining our next-generation portable gas detection products. This is a hands-on engineering position where you will develop embedded software, collaborate across disciplines, and deliver safety-critical products that meet industry standards and protect lives.

The annual base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $140,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

US PERSON REQUIREMENT:
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S.YOU MUST HAVE:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
• 2 to 5+ years of engineering experience in cross functional product development.

WE VALUE:

• Experience successfully developing 2 products through its full lifecycle in a structured phase-based development process.
• Knowledge communication protocols LoRa, Bluetooth, 5G a plus.
• Must have proven ability adhering to a software and/ or product development process.
• Project management skills a plus.
• Gas detector development experience a plus
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience applying six sigma methodologies.
• Experience with configuration management and change control.
• Experience in developing Functional Safety products and knowledge of SIL certification is a plusKEY RESPONSIBITLIES:
• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for portable gas detectors using C/C++.
• Define and document software requirements and architecture in collaboration with systems and hardware engineering teams.
• Implement real-time applications on microcontroller-based embedded platforms.
• Lead and contribute to the architectural development of gas detection instruments that balance performance, reliability, and cost.
• Support product lifecycle activities including DFMEA/PFMEA reviews, quality audits, and problem-solving for field issues.
• Manage product integration into ERP systems and support ECN processes in a factory environment.
• Participate in configuration management, version control, and Agile/SCRUM development practices.
• Continuously analyze and optimize system performance and software reliability.About Us
