Sr Cost Estimator (Finance)



The Opportunity:

Tetra Tech is adding a Sr. Cost Estimator to our Global Services Design Team based in our Marlborough, Massachusetts Office. The location of this position is flexible for the right candidate.

We specialize in facility and utility planning, design, and construction services throughout the project lifecycle. One of our key clients is the U.S. Department of Defense. Our projects range from full design and construction support for military base expansions and improvements to critical infrastructure such as airfield pavements, roadways, water and wastewater systems, and power and communications networks, as well as headquarters, operations, housing, warehouses, and other mission support facilities.

Your Role:

  • Reviews RFPs, plans and specifications to become familiar with project scopes
  • Ensures that corporate and client required estimating procedures are followed
  • Support and work with estimating/engineering/business development staff in the review of project plans, requirements, and specifications
  • Perform quantity take-offs and pricing of primarily federal construction projects
  • Perform constructability reviews and develop draft project schedules as needed
  • Participate in and/or lead client presentations such as charrettes, design review meetings, and value engineering meetings
  • Supervise and mentor estimating staff.

Qualifications

We are seeking motivated individuals who are passionate about cost estimating and thrive in collaborative environments. Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university; engineering or quantity survey degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years' cost estimating experience related to design and construction services
  • Professional level certification such as AACE CCP or CEP is required
  • Knowledge of construction methods and practices and well-versed in use of cost estimating software (MII / MCACES / PACES highly preferred)
  • Construction scheduling experience in MS Project or P6 highly preferred
  • Experience working on projects for DoD agencies, such as USACE, USAF, NAVFAC highly preferred
  • Professional staff supervisory experience is desirable
  • Due to the clients we serve this position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Residence Card
  • Must be able to pass background screening including criminal history, credit check etc.
  • Ability to drive on an occasional basis for business purposes is preferred. To do this, you will need a valid driver's license, pass a motor vehicle record check, and maintain a safe driving record

Additional Information:

The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $120,000.
