Maintenance Technician

AHF Products has a job opportunity for a Maintenance Technician on 3rd. Shift to be located in West Plains, MO.  This position installs, maintains and repairs machinery and equipment, including physical structures, pipe and electrical systems in the plant. 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
  • Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
  • Assist in installation and repairs of electrical apparatus, such as transformer and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
  • Repair and maintain physical structure of plant facilities
  • Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join and fabricate metal parts.
  • Fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions and other wooden structures.
  • Always follow all safety guidelines in order to eliminate accidental injury.
  • Maintain property, plant, and equipment to support and improve the safe production and performance of operations.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement, also provide suggestions to improve processes and participate in team projects.
  • Be a role model for safety. Promote a zero-injury safety culture and find ways to continuously improve safety culture in the workplace.
  • Stop any observed work activities or conditions that are dangerous, illegal, or against company policy.
  • Identify safety issues in the workplace and assume responsibility to take immediate action to correct or immediately escalate to appropriate level for resolution.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Also, the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Good hand-eye coordination desirable.
  • Basic working knowledge of computer spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • Basic competency in welding and cutting procedures.

PHYSCIAL DEMANDS:

  • Push, pull, carry, and lift to 100lbs.
  • Walking, standing, stretching, bending, stooping, crouching, crawling, twisting, reaching, grasping and repetitive movements.
  • Talk, hear, read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Must be able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
  • Work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Climbs stairs to/from workstations.
  • Must be able to work in moderate noise, up to 83 decibels.
  • Specific vision requirements required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
